Derrick is now 5

So my baby boy is 5 as of the 10th. He had all of his shots and he is super excited to start kinder in the fall. We started his party at Meridian Lanes with some of his buddies. They had so much fun bowling. Afterwards we had pizza and cake in one of their party rooms. The best part was no clean up!!!!! No really the best part for Derrick was everything. He had so much fun and lots of cool presents.

Derrick is so sweet. He really knows how to use his big blue eyes. He is very smart! His favorite color is red and he is into whatever Carter is into. Derrick is also the household recycle police:) and he is very good at his job. I love you Derrick and Happy Birthday

Ok so I took the plunge and I am now a facebooker. I am hoping this will facilitate my comunication with my behives. We will see how it goes and what blasts from the past surface.

Carter is now 7

I can't believe my baby is 7 years old. Time is so short!!! We all went out to dinner at McDonalds (his choice) It was a lot of fun. Then on Saturday we had a party. We did a Wii tennis tournament with 9 of his closest friends. We had pizza, cake, and ice cream. Carter really got hooked up with some nice toys. He has been very buzy with them ever since.

Carter is a very smart boy. He is always telling me he loves me and he is such a good big brother to Derrick and Evelynn. He is my helper! I can't believe in one years time he will be 8 and getting ready for baptism. He is already talking about it and he is really excited to get his own scriptures. Carter had his first spelling test ever in school last week. He got a 100%. I am so proud of what he is accomplishing.

Trunk or Treat

We all went to the trunk or treat this year. Evelynn went as Sunshine care bare. Carter was megatron and Derrick is the power ranger. The stealthy ninja in the back is our friend Caleb.

Update

After Evelynn's bath we tried to french braid her hair and this is how it turned out. Not bad for a one year old.

Evelynn had a lot more fun doing this then sitting on the sidelines this morning at Carter's game. Today Tyson and the kids played in the leaves and had a great time. Carter did a great job raking them.

Derrick is still gong strong in teakwando. He just moved up to orange tiger belt, which means he gets a cool headband. He is so strong!!! Carter's is doing well in soccer. He is the fastest kid on his team and today he was hit in the head twice by the ball so now we have to work on him not being afraid of the ball. His team is mostly 2nd and 1st graders.

Derrick

The boys and I were making chocolate zucchini cake when I spilled cinnimon on myself. Derrick said this; "mom, you smell good, but I wont eat you" with funny smile. He says the funniest things sometimes. He is so sweet. Love you Derrick. You crack me up.

My helper

Well we are in the full swing of school. I sure miss Carter when he is gone all day. He started 1st grade this year. I sure love that little man. Derrick is in preschool and is gone for 2 hours 4 days a week and Evelynn usually takes a nap at that time and I find myself wondering, what do I do now and I guess the answer is whatever I want. I am not sure what to do about this freedom. Maybe I will read more, pick up my old hobbies that I used to do a lot of before kids. Who knows, maybe my house can be rediculously organized (my husband did win a label maker for me recently) We shall see what this new school year brings.

Derrick got his orange belt

Tiny tigers waiting to test. This was so cute. This kids had to sit this way until it was their turn to show their stuff. There are three judges as the instructor leads the kids in their form and then he asks each one of them a question the answers to which are in Korean. Derrick got his question right and always said yes sir.

While the tiny tigers wait to begin they have to sit criss cross applesauce and hold there palms facing up to recieve knowledge. I don't know how but this teacher, Mr. Dillow can have them do that for more than 5 min.

This is at the end of testing when the kids recite the tiny tiger oath.

Derrick is so happy. He is loving this sport. He really is talented. The teacher is very pleased with how fast he learns. He has only been a white belt for three weeks and here he is and ORANGE belt.

Derrick was so happy to accomplish this. He is so excited to be a black belt some day

FHE at the Temple

The Boys. The primary did this great activity. We all met at the temple in our sunday best and the bishop gave a quick lesson. After that we went on a little scavenger hunt/I spy game. After that you could get your family picture taken. And of course there were yummy refreshments!! Our Primay Presidency is truely amazing.

Harvest

The boys helped us harvest some of our green beans. They did so well this year.

Evelynn is 1!!!!

Our little princess is one. She had a great birthday. We had our neighbors over and my mom came for the occasion. We now have babydolls in our house:) We had such a great time and of course I introduced her to M&M's. She is my daughter after all. Only a girl would take the time to admire the ribbons on a gift.

Going for a ride

I told Carter that I wanted to take a picture to send to his aunt Michelle and this is what he did. I guess he wanted you all to know that he is working out or starving himself by the looks of it. Trust me this boy can put the food away.

I am not sure what face Derrick was going for. He is a cute guy. He told a funny joke out of the blue the other day. Derrick: knock knock Me: who's there Derrick: Dwane Me: Dwane who Derrick: Dwane the bathtub I'm dwowning :) So Funny and he actually understands the concept of telling knock knock jokes.

Evelynn is such an easy baby. She knows that once she gets a bottle after her bath that it is bed time.

Tyson

Well we gave it a 7 month trial and it just wasn't in the cards for us to move to Twin Falls Yet. Tyson has been offered the biggest district in Boise. That means a lot of work but at least he will be home at night with us. We have missed having him around during the week and we are really excited.

Our Heavenly Father has truly blessed our family. We always are provided for. I have a testimony of tithing and that the windows of heaven really open up to us.

Play Time

I like to hide away totes of toys and rotate them so every couple of months it is like new toys for the boys with out us having to buy anything. Evelynn is also enjoying this tradition. Today the tote we got out had the boy's costumes and Legos.
